Odeena's Great Teacher Onizuka Tv Review

Rated: 8

There may be viewers who would feel offended by certain explicit situations depicted in this anime (like Onizuka peeping at the panties of high school girls, for instance). There may be other viewers who would dismiss this show as being either too childish, too fast-paced or downright stupid. But in my humble view, Great Teacher Onizuka is an excellent piece due to its outrageous, but brilliant humor (sometimes I found myself laughing so hard I had to pause the episode and take a break before I could go on watching), its excellent acting and, last but not least, its intricate plot. Watch the series if you have the chance. You won't regret it.

Odeena's Appleseed Tv Review

Appleseed

Rated: 9

Clearly, Appleseed is a movie that leaves a strong impression on the viewer. Apart from the breathtaking graphics and elaborate sound effects, this film raises strong moral issues and ultimately questions the very foundation for the continued existance of mankind. For those of you who seek a thrilling two-hour ride into a futuristic and unpredictable universe, Appleseed will undoubtedly prove to be an unforgettable experience. On the other hand, for those of you who like an to search for a deeper meaning, this film will definitely make you wonder about some things that you took for granted up until now. Either way, Appleseed is a movie that you definitely shouldn't miss. It's worth every minute.

Odeena's Tenjou Tenge Tv Review

Tenjou Tenge

Rated: 8

Before watching this series, you should know that some scenes are extremely violent and gorey. If that kind of visuals offend you, then you'd best try to find something else to watch. Also, there are several moments of high emotional impact, so you should be aware of that as well if you're easily moved. On the other hand, if you're into hard-core action, dynamic plots and a touch of mystical and supernatural, then this is one of the titles you shouldn't miss.

Tenjho Tenge has a little bit of everything (apart from action, of course): romance - with several love triangles and plenty of dilemmas, drama, ecchi, humour, supernatural, and plenty more. All in all, I think this series is an interesting anime.

Odeena's Hellsing Tv Review

Hellsing

Rated: 7

Like I said before, there's hardly anything original about this series. No matter what aspect you take into consideration, it's all been done before: the secret organization thing, the good / bad guys from Vatican messing things up, the apotheotic scene in which a demented and very powerful villain threatens to bring about the destruction of the world and all the other things like that. On the other hand, the action is very dynamic, and even though this series is quite short, it manages not to become boring or repetitive.

If you're looking for an anime with good action scenes, plenty of blood and moral / spiritual references here and there, then Hellsing is definitely a title you shouldn't miss out.

Odeena's Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Tv Review

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

Rated: 8

Like any anime, Gundam SEED Destiny has its good points and its bad points. The question is which ones prime overall. Let's take a look...

On the good side, the story is nicely developed and is well linked to that in the first series. We finally get to find out what Earth Alliance's 'extended' pilots really are (a side story which spreads some light on the behavior of the first three extended pilots in Gundam SEED - Shani, Orga and Crot). We finally get to see Raw Le Klueze's face for once (I just had to point that out XP). Also, the questions and problems raised by this series are quite deep and sometimes they leave you pondering. And finally, Gundam SEED Destiny contains a few bits of humour, which are pretty enjoyable, even though there's not that many of them.

On the bad side...

Odeena's Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Tv Review

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Rated: 7

There are a few points that lower the quality of this series. First, certain scenes seem fake and artificial, and the way certain characters just 'happen' to be at the right place and at the right time for the right thing to happen becomes quite irritating at one point. Also, I've never been able to understand how did soldiers belonging to different factions manage to communicate through radio. I mean, it would seem logical for them to use separate channels, right? That didn't make sense. Some characters were characterized in detail, while others were not characterized at all, like the three pilots of the Earth Alliance's new units. I truly think there was more to them than those "Annihilate! Obliterate! Kill!" sort of lines. Same goes for Orb's pilots (the three girls).

Odeena's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Rated: 9

is series has everything it takes to be a great one - a dynamic and easy-to-follow story, complex characters, plenty of humorous moments, a touch of philosophy, decent visuals and last but not least an awesome OST. One impediment would be that the beginning is a bit slow, with plenty of flashbacks and many things that may seem strange on first sight, but everything is cleared up later in the series. If you have the patiente to endure through the first five episodes, I assure you it will be well worth it, so you should definitely watch it if you have the chance.
