I'm only 10 hours into the game, but I agree with every point of your review on sound, graphics and gameplay. What ticks me the most is the gameplay -- it's exactly as you describe it: see it -- kill it -- end of story. This reminds me a lot of hack'n'slash RPGs like Diablo or the DotA map for Warcraft III TFT; for me, at least, it was sad to see the FF gameplay reduced to that much. Personally, I didn't use gambits -- good, old-school individual character control makes the game slightly more difficult and therefore a bit more enjoyable.

Will comment more when I'll have finished the game [should I ever :)]

...By the way, where's your Naruto review? I can't seem to find it on the site and you've made me curious...

Quote by "ArtificialRaindrop"if you already have that bad of an attitude towards that genre altogether you probably shouldn't be reviewing it (same goes for people that are Obsessed with it, too!). This has a tendency to keep people from making objective choices about the good and the bad, and when what they are saying has merit and when they are merely ranting about things they dislike,

...That's kinda what I meant to say ^_^' ArtificialRaindrop seems to have said it more explicitely though.

Well, I can see why you think that Bleach deserves such a low score. However, I think that your review is largely subjective, because some of the things you find not interesting, disturbing or annoying are precisely what makes the series popular with other fans.

What I would like to say, however, is that you can't judge an anime just by reading the manga. For instance, following the manga for the past half a year has been hell for me [a former avid fan] because of the battle that seems to be dragging endlessly, with enemies popping out one after another... Still, in the anime, the pace is much more dynamic and the battles are more enjoyable, at least in my opinion.

Another point I disagree with is the sound... I'd give it at least a 7, because it certainly shines with some tracks.

...But... everyone has their opinion, and I certainly wouldn't call you an idiot for stating your own [and giving lots of arguments on top of that].

I think your review is very well done and it manages to sum up the characteristics of the series quite well. Extra points for the in-depth look at the voice acting and for the rather original introduction ;) Well done!

Don't get me wrong, but your review doesn't really say much... What I understood was that: a- Elfen Lied has plenty of [realistic-looking] violence, and you're a person that clearly enjoys violence very much, b- the art is OK, c- the sound isn't such a big deal, and d- you've got a long way to go until actually writing a real review. Here are a few hints:

- Don't let your personal opinions interfere too much and don't repeat things (you say about 5 or 6 times that this anime is violent and is for those who enjoy violence)
- State your opinions clearly and concisely, without any unnecessary complications
- Focus on the sections of the review equally (you can't write that much in 'Story' and then have only a phrase or two in the 'Art' and 'Sound' sections, because they contribute just as much to an anime) and always argument your opinions solidly.

I hope I didn't upset you... I just want to help. Ja ne!

I think your review does the series great injustice, especially in regard to the music. How can you say that there was no notable BGM? Every BGM track is wonderfully done, and there are several that stand out. As for the story, it's true that it's kinda left hanging (and that bugs me too), and it's got some weak points, but still it would've deserved a 6 or 7. There's also plenty of humour in the series, only it's not immediately noticeable and it's more of the twisted sort... All in all, try being a little more profound when writing a review. (And check your spelling... that's just a hint ;)).

An great review, if I may say so myself. You truly captured the essence of the series, and did it with style, too. Congratulations!

Your review is interesting, but I have to point out that it's a bit inconcise at points, and it's confusing the way you switch from one topic to another, and then you return to the previous topic, and then you switch to a third topic etc. Also, I think it's quite subjective, i.e. it doesn't point out any of the bad points in the series, although there were some. Keep practicing and you will most definitely improve ;)

(Side note: I think the images not showing is because of the server move... I'm not sure though)

f

Your review is well-written and definitely does a great job in summarizing the characteristics of this series. I agree with it mostly, except maybe for the plot, which was, in my view, a bit thinner than in other series I've seen... but over all, you did good. Congratulations!

f

I agree with the review... Gundam SEED is a good series, although it was the first series I've ever seen from the Gundam universe, so I might change my mind after I watch other series like Gundam Wing or Gundam 8th MS team. But anyway, you people shouldn't be irked that there is "too much of it" out there. If so many people like it, it's only natural for them to make wallpapers, to write reviews etc., right?
